IF Robin Walker appears to be getting more buff by the minute, it's not your imagination playing tricks.
Worcester's Brexit minister has agreed to take part in the 22 push-up challenge, a campaign to help war veterans and raise cash for charity by performing 22 push-ups every 24 hours for 22 days.
The politician who urged him to do it? Tory Councillor Chris Mitchell, a former army veteran, Sandhurst instructor and Gulf War commander who has already showed him the spirit by doing an incredible 220 push-ups in a single day.
Look out for Worcester's emerging musclebound MP to send those Eurocrats running for cover!
* LABOUR'S remarkably destructive leadership battle between Jeremy Corbyn and Owen Smith has triggered enough sparks to light a bonfire, but around Worcestershire the pressures of backing 'the right horse' has only sparked inertia.
Only two constituency Labour Party (CLP) branches in the county have decided to actually endorse a candidate at all with both of them - Mid-Worcestershire and the Wyre Forest - going for Jezza.
What are the rest scared of?
* MIND you Labour Councillor Chris Bloore, an energetic figure around County Hall, has conjured up the best description yet of how damaging his party's date with destiny has been.
He says: "This Labour leadership thing is getting close to being as unbearable as Villa's last season in the Premier League."
Don't ask how that one ended.
* LAST week the county council handed the media a tour of Worcestershire's massive Norton recycling plant, but it wasn't half as eventful as it might have been.
A WI group were recently invited in, and were said to be "terrified" about the site going up in flames due to large plumes of smoke spreading across the main hall.
Alas it wasn't a dead pig on fire, or even David Cameron's political career among the rejected recyclables, but an artificial spray aimed at simply keeping dust levels down.
* HAVING ripped Worcestershire into a peculiar rump of shreds, you'd think the Boundary Commission would be pulling out every stop to give people a fair hearing into the parliamentary seat changes, but no.
The body has announced four 'public hearings' into its West Midlands proposals with Birmingham, Stafford, Shrewsbury and even Leamington Spa among the locations but not Worcestershire, which has been inexplicably snubbed.
* FORMER Chancellor George Osborne decided to choose Worcestershire for his first public engagement outside the Government last week, but it wasn't cheap.
The bash, at Callow End's chic Stanbrook Abbey, cost non-Tories £75 to get in.
