MELODIC rock band Blackout are flying the flag for Worcestershire.
The Evesham-based group have made it through to the regional finals of the Surface Unsigned Festival Battle of the Bands competition.
If they impress judges when they next play, on Friday, June 22, the boys will secure a place in the national contest.
Surface Unsigned is a major music industry event for unsigned bands. Taking place in Birmingham, it provides a gateway for artists from all genres to perform on international stages and in front of industry representatives.
But as well as showcasing talent, bands must demonstrate "off stage" skills such as personality, ability to self-promote, originality of material, relevance and look.
