WORCESTERSHIRE people will have the opportunity to discover what support is available to people with a learning disability during three events next week.

Worcestershire County Council is supporting Learn-ing Disability Week by taking part in events open to the public and aimed at promoting healthy living and eating for those with a learning disability.

They will take place at Pershore Civic Centre on Monday, June 18, between 10.30am and 4pm; Redditch Town Hall on Thursday, June 21, between 11am and 5pm; and the British Institute for Learning Disabilities, in Green Street, Kidderminster, on Friday, June 22, between 10.30am and 4pm.

Adults with a learning disability and their families and carers are invited to attend the days of activities, presentations and giveaways.

Stephen Chandler, county head of health and social care for learning disabilities, said: "The idea to set up these events came from the Healthy sub-group of the Learning Disability Partner-ship board.

They thought that holding them during Learning Disability Week would not only help us to raise awareness, but also give us the opportunity to promote heal-thy living and eating among those people suffering from a disability.

"The events should be lively and enjoyable for everyone involved, with presentations throughout the day and many stallholders offering promotional materials and giveaways."
