AS Bollywood stars turned out for the latest Oscars-style festival, children at a Worcester school joined them and got in the Indian spirit.
Year four pupils at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School spent the day cooking traditional foods, dancing and making silk paintings during their special Indian Day.
The event, held at the same time as the International Indian Film Academy Awards, was part of the pupils' geography project based on India.
"It was a really fantastic day and all the children seemed to have a good time," said trainee teacher Lindsay Roach, who was co-ordinating the day.
"In the morning we cooked samosas, and a sagaloo for the children to eat.
"In the afternoon, we did silk painting and made traditional Indian musical instruments as well as learning traditional dance and trying on Indian clothes."
