A NEW Momentum group has formed in Worcester which held a 'Jeremy Corbyn rally' at Tramps nightclub last Sunday - bringing the paranoid androids out in force.
Nobody bothered to invite us to attend the bash, but it didn't stop one of the organisers emailing us afterwards to declare: "Sadly the press decided they would not cover this event".
They love a good conspiracy theory, don't they?
* WITH poetic comedy the estimated cost for Worcester's Cathedral Square has shot up £545,000 - which comes as no surprise to anyone with an iota of common sense.
Two years ago some senior county council bods estimated the continental-style piazza would cost little more than £1 million, raising eyebrows about how on earth the finished product could ever be 'high quality' with such a minimal outlay.
Worcester City Council is set to very wisely 'cap' its extra contribution at £100,000, leaving County Hall to plug the rest of the shortfall in this ongoing fag packet exercise.
But it's one tiny line in a city council report which sends an anxious shiver down The Source's spine.
"This estimate is subject to final design details being signed off by all parties."
* LIKE the return of the Jedi, former county council boss Trish Haines is back in a left-field appointment if ever there was one.
County Hall's ex-chief executive, a regular face at Worcester's Cap 'N' Gown pub during the summer's EU referendum hustings, has landed a role reviewing complaints about the press with powerful watchdog IPSO.
Whatever next, media moguls running councils?
* QUOTE of the week goes to Tory Andy Roberts, part of the leadership team at County Hall, who described Labour's Richard Udall as "Worcestershire's Katy Perry" due to his publicity-hungry antics.
What until you hear him roar!
* ROBIN Walker had it spot on about there being no need for a second referendum this week, using his status as a junior Brexit minister to tell MPs many Remainers (and he was one) need to get over their "seven stages of grief" - one of which is "denial" about the result.
Too many parliamentarians, and outside the Commons bad loser Eddie Izzard, are still arguing the toss about the result: they are beneath contempt.
Absolutely nobody in their right mind, with any ounce of sensibility, wants a second referendum. But if it came, after all this anti-democratic whining, the majority to quit would be even larger.
Note to Remainers: Be careful what you wish for.
* CONGRATULATIONS to the city council's top spin doctor Rob Byrne who has tied the knot.
Rob, the man lurking behind many of the authority's public communications, is enjoying a honeymoon in the Isles of Scilly (not to be confused with the Isles of Silly, which is where Eddie Izzard's next march is taking place).
