A GROUP of mums from Kempsey, near Worcester, managed to raise £150 for Acorns Children's Hospice by simply having a cup of tea.
Kempsey Family Circle, has been meeting every month for more than 20 years to enjoy interesting talks from local organisations or to tour places of interest. This month, the mums decided to focus on the work of Acorns and helped raise funds for the Bath Road-based hospice by organising a table-top sale of cakes, fine china, plants, beauty products and books as a part of the charity's Tea at 3 campaign.
Organiser Anita Hinds said: "I think Acorns' Tea at 3 summer fund-raiser is a great way for groups of friends, neighbours and colleagues to enjoy an afternoon of cakes and refreshing cups of tea while helping to raise funds for this important local cause."
