THOUSANDS of women might still be recovering from taking part in this year's Worcester Race for Life, but the race is now on to collect the money.

After 5,000 women walked, jogged and ran around the city to help raise money for Cancer Research UK on Sunday, the charity is asking everybody who took part to hand in their sponsorship money as soon as they can and help reach Worcester's fund-raising target of £380,000.

National events executive Richard Brown said: "I hope everyone who took part really enjoyed it, but we mustn't forget the reason we all came together - to raise money to help more people survive cancer."

For information on how to return your sponsorship money visit www.raceforlife.org, where you can also make a donation.

There are still places in other Race For Life events across the region, including Evesham on Sunday, June 24, and Hereford on Sunday, July 15.
