STUDENTS, staff and parents at the Chase school, Malvern, will take to the stage during a variety show in memory of year 10 pupil Tammatari Tammy' Holmes.

Everyone at the school, and in her home town of Bromyard, was devastated when 15-year-old Tammy died suddenly of multiple organ failure in February.

Since then, friends and teachers at the school have been thinking of the best way to celebrate the life of the much-loved pupil and decided to organise a variety show on Friday, June 29.

Tammy's mother Oui Holmes, who runs the Old Satang restaurant in Bromyard, will prepare and sell Thai food on the night and a raffle will be held.

Money raised will go to help deprived children in Thailand, who cannot afford to go to school.

Andy Collard, head of year 10 at the school, said: "Tammy was always full of life, and was involved in lots of things at the school, so we wanted to do something really fun to remember her.

"Tammy's friends, teachers and even some of the parents will be getting up on stage, which is great."

Performances on the list so far include a staff pantomime and rendition of the Village People hit YMCA.

"We're still in the early stages of planning at the moment, but we expect about 100 people to take part, and there are 500 tickets for the audience," he said.

"Basically, people watching can just get up from the audience and perform on stage, it should be really fun."

The show takes place in the school's main hall, from 7pm.

Tickets cost £5 each and are available from the school on 01684 891961.
