TWO workers from Webbs Garden Centre, near Droitwich, are taking to the skies to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.

Russell Barratt and Richard Cotterill are among 40 plucky people who have signed up to join a special St Richard's skydive day at Brackley Airfield in Oxfordshire on Saturday, July 14.

The pair will tandem skydive with instructors, dropping from thousands of feet above the ground.

Russell, aged 26, said: "I've always wanted to take part in a skydive as I really enjoy things like rollercoaster rides."

Hospice fund-raiser Joanna Street said: "Russell and Richard are set to have an amazing experience, leaping out of an aircraft above the clouds and parachuting down with an expert skydiver. It's an exhilarating way to raise funds for St Richard's."

All 40 daredevils will raise much-need cash for the hospice's work caring for patients and families in south Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illness.

St Richard's is one of Webbs' chosen charities for this year.
