ARMED police were called to an incident in Worcester in which it was suspected someone was carrying a handgun.
Officers were called to an incident of disorder, reported to them by staff at the Marrs Bars pub in Pierpoint Street, in the early hours of this morning, (August 4).
A West Mercia Police spokesman said the disorder continued on into other streets in the area.
It was reported to police that someone involved in the disorder had been spotted carrying a handgun.
Police at the scene arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of assault but officers saw no one with a gun, and found no firearms in the area.
The arrested man is currently in custody.
One witness told the Worcester News armed police were at one point in the McDonald's, in Foregate.
A spokesman from the firm confirmed police were in the fast food restaurant carrying out routine checks, as part of their investigations into the incident.
