BIG acts including Bay City Rollers and Sister Sledge are heading to Upton to perform at the Sunshine Music Festival.

More than 100 acts will take to the stages in Fish Meadow between August 26 and August 28.

Children aged 12 and under get free entry to the three day event, billed as England's greatest family festival.

Steve High, public relations officer for Sunshine Music Festival, said: "This is the best lineup we have ever had.

"We are hoping for another sell out festival. Around 5,000 tickets have already been sold and 1,000 are left.

"People should get tickets as soon as they can because last year we sold out the Wednesday before the festival started."

Mr High said half of the 40 traders at the festival were from Upton and were allowed to set up a stand for free.

All the proceeds from festival programme sales are being donated to Acorns Children's Hospice in Worcester.

Mr High said the majority of revellers camp in Fish Meadow, bringing in business for the town.

Each day will be fancy dress themed with Glam Rock Friday, Tribute Saturday and Tartan Sunday.

The festival, which is in its seventh year, will have four main stages, two minor stages and one children's stage.

Children will also have access to an inflatable play areas while three relaxation areas will be available to the parents.

Attendees will also be able to try 12 types of food from all over the world at the festival food village.

The festival will end with a bang at a firework display being held on Sunday evening at 9pm.
