THE stunning baroque church of Great Witley will host its sixth Church Arts and Crafts Exhibition, during the August Bank Holiday weekend.

This year’s exhibition will open, as always, with a preview evening from 7.30pm on Friday 26th August 26, when dress code will be smart and entrance will be £5 to cover the cost of refreshments.

A spokesman said: "It will be an excellent evening when artists attend to talk about their work and buyers can have their pick of the wonderful work being exhibited. "We will have paintings of outstanding quality in different media; beautiful wall hangings , embroideries and exquisitely worked quilts; beautiful artworks in wood from out two woodturners; walking sticks and staffs; pieces of hand made jewellery and gorgeously worked glassware."

Live music will be supplied by Alex Walter on the piano.

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday the exhibition will be open, free of charge, from 10am until 5pm each day. From Saturday onwards , there will be a bookstall, a bric-a-brac stall and a chocolate tombola in the churchyard, as well as games.

On Sunday August 28, there will also be a Plants and Produce Stall.

A children’s exhibition and art Competition to be displayed in the Garden Tearooms, close to Great Witley Church, for the whole of August.

Great Witley Church is attached to the famous stately home, Witley Court.
