A SUMMER exhibition has so far proved “very popular” with visitors to Lower Broadheath, near Worcester.

Art lovers from across the county flocked to the Elgar Birthplace Museum for the grand opening of the show, featuring work by painters David Birtwhistle and John Harris.

Plenty of visitors have since enjoyed perusing their work, which draws inspiration from the landscape and countryside scenery.

Chris Bennett, museum supervisor, said: “David and John’s work is more popular than ever.

“And it’s especially appropriate that so many of the paintings on display depict landscapes and buildings which Elgar knew so well and drew inspiration from.”

There is still plenty of time to see the exhibtion, which runs until Wednesday, August 31 at the Crown East Lane-based venue.

The museum is open between 11am and 5pm from Friday to Tuesday, with last admission at 4.15pm.
