MEMBERS of the Mother's Union, from branches across Worcester, are joining forces for a fundraising garden party.

The garden party is being held at St Oswald's Hospital, Almshouses on the Tything on Wednesday, August 10, from 2.30pm.

Members who come from the east and west Worcester branches will be baking cakes and serving teas at the event, being held as part of the Big Summer Appeal.

Money raised will go to the charity's worldwide work including supporting illiterate people, survivors of gender based violence and families facing difficulty.

Mothers’ Union member, Barbara Davies, said: “By coming together to hold the Big Summer Garden Party we are raising funds to help make a positive difference to people’s lives.

"The Mothers’ Union is involved in a wide range of projects which benefit people locally, nationally and internationally – I hope lots of people will come along to enjoy the cakes and support this event.”

Anyone unable to attend the garden party can support the charity by making a donation at mother’sunion.org.
