THREE Pershore teenagers were given certificates from the Royal Life Saving Society UK after saving a man and his dog from the river.
Tom Banks, Callum Strickland and Charlotte Whitehead, from Pershore High School, were canoeing on the River Severn when Tom spotted a shivering man clinging to a tree by the riverbank.
The man had fallen in while trying to retrieve a golden Labrador and was unable to climb back up the steep riverbank.
He was waist high in water when the children found him on the morning of July 3.
The trio, along with adults Malcolm Upwood and Rachel Thornton, were able to get the man and the dog into the canoe, find a landing spot and inform the man's wife.
The group had been canoeing towards the Camp House Inn at Grimley.
Debbie Weston, Lifesaving Service Coordinator, presented the three youngsters with their certificates.
