CHILDREN from Oasis Academy Warndon went to school dressed in red in honour of a retiring teacher.
The children dressed up as a surprise for Liverpool fan Lynda Morgan who retired after dedicating 22 years of service to the school.
She started work at Warndon Junior School in 1994 as a teacher and has taught around 600 children as a class teacher.
In recent years she joined the school's leadership team as deputy principal and SENCo, or special needs co-ordinator.
Matthew Meckin, the school's principal, said: “Mrs Morgan has been at this school for 22 years – as a teacher and as a senior leader.
"Her service has been tremendous and today we turned the academy red in the name of her favourite football team, Liverpool.
"She has been a loyal and talented servant for this school and community; her hard work and passion for children’s education has shone through and she will be greatly missed.
"We wish her all the very best for the future.”
Year 6 student, Kaitlin Price said: “Mrs. Morgan is amazing because she helps us and supports us, no matter how busy she is.
"We will miss her.”
Mrs Morgan said: “I was absolutely stunned and amazed in the best possible way.
"I had no idea.
"It is wonderful that the whole school is involved.
"It has made the day super special.”
