WYCHAVON District Council has been officially rated excellent in a recent report.
Significant improvements in housing, environmental services and planning are just some of the achievements highlighted in the Audit Commission inspection.
Jack Hegarty added: "I'm so proud to be managing director of this amazing organisation with such dedicated staff.
"This is an unprecedented position for us but we will not be complacent and will continue to work hard to improve and strive to serve the people of Wychavon."
Paul Middlebrough, leader of Wychavon said: "What an achievement to be recognised as an excellent council.
"It's a team effort and my thanks go to every single member of the Wychavon team."
Feedback from the report revealed the council was "performing strongly", had "clear ambitions and priorities for the area", demonstrated "strong community leadership" and was "characterised by strong political and managerial leadership".
