A SUPERSTORE in Worcester played host to a celebrity vet preparing to take part in a barking-mad challenge.
Joe Inglis, from BBC's Vets in Practice, visited Sainsbury's Windermere Drive store on Saturday, June 9, in his unusual boat - a giant dog bowl.
Mr Inglis and his companion Jack, a collie cross, will be starting their challenge of rowing down the Thames in the bowl at Cricklade on Monday, July 2, with a hope to reach Putney by Wednesday, July 11.
Made from an old cattle drinking trough and named the Mutty Bark, in honour of historic ship Cutty Sark, he is hoping to raise money for the charity Hearing Dogs For Deaf People.
Mr Inglis said: "The visit to Worcester was a huge success. I was amazed by the positive response that we received from the public and I think the Mutty Bark caught the attention of many passers-by. The fact that we are raising funds for such a worthwhile charity enabled us to collect an amazing £350 in just three hours."
