THE DROITWICH Spa Music Festival is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year with a serving up of tribute acts, local talent and family fun, to bring scorching July to a resounding finale.

In previous years the festival, based around the Leisure Centre, has been run by the For Droitwich Spa group, a local community team that has support the spa town in many ways.

But for the last couple of years the festival has been organised by 4 Shires Festivals in agreement with For Droitwich Spa.

The festival will take place from Friday, July 29 to Sunday, July 31, and it will be supported by the CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival.

A spokesman said: "This is a family festival with Local Bands and performers alongside professional bands a performers.

"This year we have been able to arrange a large impressive stage and source some of the best UK and European tribute bands.

These will include Fred Zeppelin, on Friday July 29, from 8pm; Absolute Bowie on Saturday July; 30, from 8pm, while Sunday July 31 will be a "double header" with the Beached Boys and local regional ska and reggae band, SkaBucks.

The spokesman added: "It’s with great pride we will be opening the Saturday event at 1pm with our own local songstress Abby Inez, who’s very recently been signed by one of the major music labels.

"There will also be plenty of daytime fun for all the family and for kids, including a funfair and bouncy castles; a market and food stalls; clothing stalls ; a beach disco foam party and lots more."
