CHILDREN from Worcester schools have learned about feeling safe and what they should do if they feel unsafe.

The feeling safe training project was provided by charity Mentor Link.

Two staff members were trained by the protective behaviours consortium in Birmingham before passing on their expertise to 57 children from primary schools in Worcester.

Claire Richardson from the West Mercia Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, which supported the project, visited St George's CE Primary School to present certificates and badges to them at the end of their training.

The children created art and craft projects during five weekly sessions.

Mentor Link also provides one to one social and emotional support to vulnerable and distressed children from a mentor with the aim of improving their self-esteem and engagement in learning.
