POLICE who have been searching for a missing Worcester man have discovered a body in Wales.

Bill Barratt, from Vicarage Close in Hallow, left his home to go fishing on Saturday, (July 16), and had not been seen since. His silver Volkswagen Polo was later found in Dyfed Powys, Wales.

Officers say a body has been discovered in the River Wye at Rhayader.

It was found on Monday afternoon and the 80-year-old's family have been informed, before formal identification takes places.

Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious.

West Mercia Police Inspector, Tony Garner, had previously said they were "extremely concerned" for Mr Barratt's welfare as he had suffered health issues in the past.

Police had also appealed for people out fishing to keep a look out, and have now thanked everyone who helped with the appeal.
