A CONCRETE block on the line near Pershore caused 'chaos' yesterday evening.

Passengers are reporting that the 19.44 from Great Malvern to Paddington eventually gave up at Oxford at 23.13, some 109 minutes late.

According to a thread on the Great Western Passengers' Forum, the 20.59 from Foregate St to Paddington also gave up at Oxford at 23.41, 74 minutes late.

The 20.22 from Paddington to Great Malvern gave up at Shrub Hill at 23.32, 52 minutes late.

The 19.22 from Paddington to Hereford had the worst time of it say one passenger.

It got to Oxford, 34 minutes late, and then reversed so as to go round by way of Swindon and Cheltenham.

It eventually arrived at Shrub Hill at 00.06, some 139 minutes late.

Thy added: "All of this means that stock is out of place this morning (Tuesday), so the first Hereford - Paddington is starting from Worcester."

Calls have been put into British Transport Police and Network Rail to get more details. More information when we have it.
