PEOPLE who had wanted to get involved with Worcester Carnival but were having trouble finding a float have been delivered some good news.

Pinches Transport has agreed to allow people to use their lorries for the carnival which is set to make its way through the city on Sunday, August 28.

It is a big coup for the carnival's organisers who are also celebrating landing Worcester's branches of Rybrook Mini and Rybrook BMW as sponsors.

However, organisers are still desperately searching for men to put themselves forward as carnival king and people to join the committee.

Malvin Hobbs, carnival chairman, said: "It's awesome news that we now have lorries for floats if people need them thanks to Martin Pinches.

"Everything is looking really good for carnival.

"We do have a dilemma though - we need a carnival king, we have just one person put themselves forward so far.

"We're looking for someone to be an ambassador for the city and that ambassador will be involved in fundraising events which could be running or cycling so we need someone who is going to be adventurous.

"They need to be outgoing and positive, motivated.

"We are also looking for people to join the committee which is just three of us at the moment.

"We need to move on from last year, we want to hear about 2016 and this year's carnival is already looking amazing."

As well as a longer route through the city and the return of floats, this year will also boast a stage at Pitchcroft with Time of the Mouth headlining, performances from the Poppy Sisters and floats Worcester Recycle Exchange running workshops for people to create items for their float.
