PUPILS from Hanley Castle High School have competed against young people from across the country.

Jen Thompson-Chatburn, Simon Lloyd, Brendan McCabe, Julian Shaw and Fran Henry-White took part in the finals of the Ryman National Enterprise Challenge.

The students were asked to create a school-based business inspired by businessman Theo Paphitis’s first taste of business which was running his school’s tuckshop.

The students had to prepare a five minute presentation and incorporate a 30 second advert.

Youth television personalities Dick & Dom hosted the grand finals.

Although Hanley's pupils were not shortlisted for the four eventual finalists, the school said their presentation was excellent.

The finals were held in Doncaster on Wednesday, June 29.
