TWO big tops were set up on a school playing field for an arts event.

Stanley Road Primary School's Starfest was a festival of theatre with a focus on spoken word and theatre.

All classes joined in with each one choosing a different genre of theatre including farce, vaudeville, whodunnit, improvisation and puppetry.

The big tops provided four stages and parents were invited to come and experience all the theatrical styles throughout the event.

Families also enjoyed a picnic before the performances.

Guests included children from other primary schools, the Mayor of Worcester Paul Denham and his wife Lynn and the county arts officer Stephen Wilson.

Rick Duerden, year 5/6 phase leader, said: "All children performed brilliantly and the audiences loved watching all of the different styles of theatre."
