GREY skies and showers may have dominated the start of July but there is good news for sun worshippers who wondered if we would ever have summer.
The dark clouds will disappear by the weekend with the city set to bask in sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-20Cs.
Paul Michaelwaite, from Pershore-based netweather.tv, said summer was finally on its way - but it would not last long.
"Summer is finally coming - a brief one anyway.
"It will appear at the end of the week and into the weekend as it looks like being quite sunny, in the mid-20Cs before crashing down next week when we will see much the same as we have been."
He said the current run of grey skies and rain has been caused by the jet streams staying over the south of the UK and keeping us cool because of low pressure.
But the weekend will at least bring some respite from the downpours.
"I think it definitely could be the nicest spell of summer so far.
"We are on the edge of the best stuff and will still see cloud coming and going.
"It's a bit tricky to say when the weather will change but Monday will have some showers but probably quite warm with sunny spells.
"After that it will be cooling off and wet again."
