CYCLISTS will be able to get free repairs at cycle surgeries, thanks to Dr Bike'.

The surgeries are being put on by Worcestershire County Council to mark National Bike Week.

Officers have organised the sessions across Worcester between Saturday, June 16, and Sunday, June 24.

Bikes will be given a safety check and, if necessary, small repairs will be carried out at no cost.

Mark Leyland, from the Choose How You Move team, said: "Small problems such as poor braking, flat tyres and jumping gears can cause enormous frustration and can put people off cycling, but these problems are often very simple and quick to fix."

The Dr Bike surgery runs between 9am and 5pm at the following locations: Worcester Technical College, Deansway, June 18; Homebase, Hylton Road, St John's, June 20; Worcester Bosch, Cotswold Way, Shire Business Park, June 21; Animal Health, Government Buildings, Whittington, June 22.
