Clown protesters caused havoc as they fought German riot police in Heilihensbumm, the venue for this year's G8 Summit.
Over 500 protesters, dressed as members of the rebel clown army were met by the defending German Police, who were armed with water canons, tear-gas and truncheons.
The protesters had hoped to disrupt the annual G8 summit, a gathering of the eight most powerful world leaders to discuss current world affairs. The nations involved are; Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, America and the United Kingdom.
The protesters failed to punch a hole in the new £11 million razor wire fence, which stretches for 13km, around Heiligensbumm. They did, however, manage to block off several roads in the area, causing great inconvenience to journalists and hotel staff.
