A DATE has been set for the inquest of an unidentified man whose body was found beside the River Severn in Worcester last week.
Police were called to the riverside near the New Road cricket ground on the morning of Tuesday, July 5, after concerns were expressed about the safety of a man.
But when they got there, the man was found dead in a tent on waste ground near the towpath roughly across the river from Worcester Cathedral.
Following the discovery, police said that it could take several weeks before the man was identified. The death is not being treated
as suspicious.
An inquest into the death was opened today (Tuesday. July 12) and adjourned to Monday, October 10, for a hearing.
