A MAN suffered a suspected broken jaw during an assault in Worcester city centre.

The assault took place in Angel Street, Worcester on Sunday (July 10) between 1.50am and 2am following an argument between two men.

One of the men is then thought to have assaulted the other man, punching the victim in the head.

He was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected broken jaw.

DC Jason Maiden of West Mercia Police said: "We are appealing for any members of the public who may have witnessed this assault to contact us as they may have important information.

"The street was quite busy at the time and it is possible there are still witnesses we would like to speak to."
