THE families of two teenagers tragically killed in a driving accident on the A449 staged a special charity day to celebrate their memory.

More than 500 people went to Droitwich Leisure Centre on Saturday to pay tribute to Stephanie Goodall, 16, and Martyn Pickering, 18, who died in December when their car hit a tree. The charity event was described as "unsurpassable" by the family, who will give all proceeds from the day to the Air Ambulance, Acorns Children's Hospice and Noah's Ark Trust.

Malcolm Goodall, aged 50, father of Stephanie, said: "It's been a wonderful day. We've had a great turnout from family, friends and the general public of Droitwich."

The event had live music, a farmers' market, a bar, six-a-side football matches, a bouncy castle, and a bucking bronco game.

It also had an inflatable sumo suit wrestling game and a barbecue. The company DHL, which has links to the families, helped organise the event after planning it three months ago.

David Pickering, 48, father of Martyn, said: "It's been a brilliant day and I'd like to thank everyone for making it so special."

Joanne Bibby, 17, and Kyle Gadsby, 18, also died in the accident.
