PUPILS from Droitwich and the surrounding area spent the day as pirates for the Shiver Me Timbers music festival.

Youngsters from seven schools in the area gathered at Chawson First School for a day of singing and sea-themed activities.

More than 300 children and staff from Chawson, St Peter's Church of England First School, Sytchampton Primary School, Cutnall Green Primary School, Ombersley Endowed First School, St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School and Wychbold First and Nursery School, took part in the event.

A spokesperson for Chawson First School said: "They just looked amazing. They sang pirate songs, walked the plank and a giant pirate conga. It was just amazing. Chawson were really thrilled to host it."

Pupil Bentley Cossum said: "I loved the pirate conga - it was brilliant", while Amelia Rosser said: "I like the dressing up with everybody."

Katelyn Mason added: "It was fantastic all the dancing."
