UPDATE: Man who wore offensive Hillsborough t-shirt fined £600 - VIDEO
A MAN is appearing in court this morning over allegations he wore an offensive t-shirt referring to the Hillsborough tragedy.
Paul Grange, aged 50, from Worcester, was charged with a Section 5 Public Order offence, relating to the display of threatening and abusive signs and writing, likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
It came after a man was pictured in the beer garden at the Brewers Arms, Comer Road, St John's, in May wearing an offensive t-shirt.
It caused a storm on social media websites with people expressing their disgust at the black t-shirt which referred to the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 people died, and allegedly states the tragedy was "God's way" of aiding a pest control company.
Grange will be appearing at Worcester Magistrates Court and we will be updating this article with the verdict later today.
