RAIL passengers using the Cotswold Line between Worcester and London this weekend can expect their journeys to be disrupted at Network Rail undertakes essential line work.
Engineers will be replacing a worn out section of single track at Shipton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire, and the line between Moreton-in-Marsh and Ascott-under-Wychwood, will be closed.
A spokeswoman for Network Rail said: "We are working on about three quarters of a mile of track between Oxford and Worcester at Shipton. It is a bit of line that has worn out and needs replacing."
The engineers will be working on it from 11.30pm on Saturday June 9 until 5.20am on Monday June 11, she added.
Passengers will be able to travel by rail from Worcester to Moreton-in-Marsh where they will have to leave their trains and catch buses that will take them to Ascott-under-Wychwood so they can continue their journeys on trains.
For those travelling from London or other stations south of Ascott-under-Wychwood, buses will be laid on to take them to Moreton-in-Marsh where they can resume their rail journey.
Information about the disruption and any timetable changes will be available at stations on the Cotswold Line
