SHOPPERS visiting Bell Square in the CrownGate today will have a chance to learn about how they can show off their gardening talents this summer.
Representatives from Worcestershire County Council are looking forward to speaking to anyone interested in taking part in the Worcester in Bloom and the Worcester Flower Show competitions, or wanting to learn more about what the events involve. They will be on hand between 10am and 2pm.
Both competitions extend to all residents of Worcestershire. Worcester in Bloom calls experienced gardeners and budding amateurs to enter a number of award categories, ranging from best patio to best window box.
The Worcester Flower Show also promises to be a treat for everyone this summer. The competition encourages all local gardening enthusiasts to come forward, whether they've grown the longest runner bean or the perfect red rose. Entertainment will also be laid on.
Linda Ohlson, Worcester in Bloom organiser and event co-ordinator for the Worcester Flower Show, said: "Worcester is a beautiful city and the summer planting really enhances our quality of life and the experience of visitors. The city's gardeners should step forward and make sure they're rewarded for the time and trouble they put in."
