A LUCKY Worcester News reader has been tucking into some continental treats.

Elizabeth Gwilliam, of Tern Street, St John's, Worcester, was one of 357 people who entered our competition to win a luxury hamper courtesy of the continental market that visited Worcester's Cathedral Plaza in May.

The hamper, worth more than £250, was full with treats such as Greek olives and Spanish paella to French bread and Belgian chocolates.

"It was such a lovely surprise," said Mrs Gwilliam, aged 76.

"We had three bottles of wine, cider, lots of meat, even pashminas. And there was the most wonderful loaf of bread. It was delicious."

Mrs Gwilliam was presented with hamper by John Kendrick, manager of Cathedral Plaza, along with French stall holders Enerick Lukass and Charles Dufetrelle, on Friday, May 11.
