RESIDENTS are being invited to a street party in Evesham to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
Party preparations are well under way for the extravaganza, which will be held in Market Square from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday, June 12.
Tables will be set out in the square and residents are invited to come along with a packed lunch to enjoy the free celebrations.
There will also be a host of activities on offer, including games, music and singing throughout the day.
Councillor Sue Amor, of Evesham Town Council, said: "It is a traditional street party, the whole area will be covered in bunting and we will have tables and chairs set out and children will have a goodie bag.
"It will just be a really good, fun day and a chance for the Evesham population to get together. That was our main wish for having the event free.
"We are traditional people and are very proud that we have got a monarchy. I think what is really nice is that she is still so active. She is very family oriented so that is why we wanted to make it family friendly."
She added that if it rains on the day, the party proceedings will move to the Town Hall.
Evesham's celebration is just one of many events taking place across the county this weekend.
