HUNDREDS of limited edition tankards have been produced by a local porcelain company to mark Worcester’s spectacular flotilla celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday.
Malvern’s Bronte Porcelain has created 500 of the limited edition tankards which feature images of Worcester Cathedral.
On Saturday, June 11 - the Queen's official 90th birthday - dozens of brightly decorated boats will set sail from South Quay and glide towards Diglis before returning to North Quay near Worcester Rowing Club.
To accompany their journey, a host of bands and dance groups will line the river banks providing music and entertainment for visitors.
Olympic rower Zac Purchase MBE, who went to school in Worcester and scooped a gold medal in Beijing and silver at the 2012 London contest, will launch the flotilla.
David Leader, operations manager at Bronte Porcelain said: "The event is sure to be talked about for years, it will be spectacular.
"We are delighted to be part of the event, and believe our Limited edition commemorative tankard will be treasured by the citizens of Worcester for years to come."
Each tankard is three inches tall and features an image of the cathedral, past which the celebratory flotilla will sail, and a regatta scene is featured on the reverse.
Made in the UK, each one is hand-numbered and finished with a hand-applied gold band around the rim. It will come complete with a gift box.
The commemorative pieces of royal memorabilia will be available from South Quay in Worcester on the day of the flotilla, priced at just £20.
All proceeds from the sale of the commemorative Bronte Porcelain tankards will go to Worcester Community Foundation, which provide support to local projects that will benefit the people of Worcester.
