A PIRATES of the Caribbean themed day at a Worcester opticians raised more than £650 for Acorns Children's Hospice.
Staff at Specsavers dressed up in pirate costumes and held a variety of competitions including a raffle and a children's colouring-in contest. Customers also had the chance to eat cakes and take part in a Find the Buried Trea-sure competition giving £75 off a pair of glasses bought at the store in Broad Street.
A fire eater also helped to raise money towards the final £653.70 total .
Female members of staff also held a Body Shop night with 10 per cent of the total orders being donated to the Bath Road hospice. Specsavers is now getting ready for its next fund-raising event - a tea, coffee and cake day on Wednesday, June 13.
