THE Mayor of Worcester lent a helping hand by picking out four winners for Leukaemia CARE's tenth annual prize draw.

Councillor Stephen Inman plucked the winners from 19,000 raffle ticket entries at the Guildhall as a part of the city's Volunteer Week.

The raffle tickets, all sold in the last year, have raised about £19,000 for the charity, which is based in Worcester.

Leukaemia CARE's public relations and marketing executive Sarah Richards said: "We were delighted that the Mayor helped us with our draw and stopped a while to find out more about the work Leukaemia CARE does.

"The event is a great way of raising the profile of our charity locally and a great opportunity for us to talk to people about the many ways they can get involved and help our charity continue its work supporting patients, their families and carers."
