FORMER Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman, who gave up her Bank Holiday Monday freedom to be in Worcester, was on fine form describing how she's running the increasingly volatile gauntlet for Remain.
"I've been driving a car with an 'I'm In' sign for the last few weeks, and nobody has lobbed a brick through the window," she said.
But who will pick up the shattered glass post-June 23?
* TALKING of weapons, Business Minister Anna Soubry was on equally amusing form this week delivering a speech at Huntington Hall for Remain.
The outspoken Tory used a truly unprintable word to describe the Leave side's tactics to yours truly, before delivering her own awkward description of many a folk clamouring for Britain to quit.
"It's like joining a golf club, then saying 'I don't like the game you're playing, I don't like these rules, and I've brought a football'," she said.
Try that in the Cap 'N' Gown and she may get beer hurled at her.
* MIND you anyone looking to social media to revel in Mrs Soubry's Worcester visit might want to avoid the Twitter account of city MP Robin Walker.
Our man tried to push the publicity of her speech far and wide by re-tweeting some of the images, only to accidentally copy in a fake 'Anna Soubry' Twitter account which serves to parody her expenses controversy.
The fake account in question keeps on re-tweeting images of fish pies, with the strapline 'fish pie and self interest'.
* WORCESTER'S Labour 'Remain' spokesman is making waves across the county, but has probably left one of his party's most distinguished figures shaking his head.
A horrified Richard Boorn sent an email to Lord Kinnock, who happened to visit Worcester last month, spelling his first name 'Neal'.
"I didn't realise until I got an email back from him, and thought oh ****," he said.
* WITH the increasingly nuts claims being made from both sides, you'd think the Monster Raving Loony Party has been drafted in to offer Remain and Leave daily advice on getting ahead in the polls.
Baron Fullstop, who runs the official Worcestershire MRLP branch and is demanding his own independence referendum for Evesham, puts it very aptly.
"Just when I think I've decided which way to vote, one side tells a whopper that drives me towards the other side," he says.
* WITH June 23 looming many people are worried about the economy, but one Worcestershire politician can't wait for the dole queue.
West Midlands MEP James 'Jim' Carver, who lives in Worcester, said: "Project Fear saying that Brexit threatens 500,000 jobs - as one of 73 British MEPs who'll lose my job it's a concession I'm happy to make."
