A HOST of events are being prepared to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday in Upton-upon-Severn.
On Saturday, June 11, a colourful procession - thought to be the town's first in ten years - will parade down the High Street and Old Street.
Later on, a carnival featuring a host of entertainment will get underway on the town's sports field.
Tracy Hall, who is organising the day's events with Lisa Staite, said: "It has just grown, and grown - it has got really big. Hopefully, the weather will be dry and kind to us.
"I think it has been a decade since there has been a carnival procession in Upton and to bring it back on such a special day is wonderful."
The party is set to merge with Upton-upon-Severn Primary School's annual summer fete.
To start the day off, Upton's parish church bells will ring out from 11am as part of a nationwide event to celebrate the Queen's birthday.
Then, children from local schools, the Hot Pepper WI, members of Upton-in-Bloom and many more will join the carnival procession down to the Sports Field at Upton RFC in Old Street.
Councillor Betty Williams, of Upton Town Council, will be honorary queen of Upton for the day, while the Carnival King, Queen, Prince and Princess will also join the parade.
At the carnival there will be a tea party run by Hot Peppers WI and Upton Business Association, a novelty dog show run by Stocks Veterinary Centre, face painting, music from local band The Rubies, a show from Britain's Got Talent stars Pippa Langhorne and her singing dog Buddy, and much more.
And there is still plenty of opportunity for local businesses to get involved and sponsor the day's events.
