A PRISONER serving a life sentence for murder has been found dead after committing suicide at Long Lartin prison, near Evesham.
Steven Murtagh, who comes from Liverpool, died on Thursday evening after hanging himself in his prison cell.
The Prison Service said emergency services had been called but were unable to revive the 41-year old.
The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will carry out an investigation into his death.
Long Lartin prison, a category C training prison, is based in South Littleton.
