A man who admitted affray in a Worcester street had to be subdued with CS spray, a court has heard.
Worcester magistrates were told police had attended an incident in St Nicholas Street at about 2am on Saturday, March 24, in which a constable tried to arrest Robert Wells, aged 27.
Douglas Marshall, prosecuting, said Wells, of Poplar Avenue, Brickfields, Worcester, became aggressive and verbally abusive until the officer was able to wrestle him to the floor and use his CS spray.
The court was told Wells continued to be aggressive, kicking the van as officers took him away.
Barry Newton, defending, said Wells had been in Reflex bar in The Trinity and the incident had only lasted a few minutes before police stepped it.
Magistrates fined him £150 and told him to pay £60 costs.
