A WORCESTER man who threw pint glasses at a pub landlord has been sentenced to four months in prison.

Jonathan Smith, aged 28, admitted a public order offence of causing fear of violence through threatening or abusive behaviour after denying the charge.

Worcester Magistrates Court heard Smith, of Riverview Close, St John's, was in the Pig and Drum pub in Lowesmoor when the group he was with was asked to leave by the landlord.

Douglas Marshall, prosecuting, said Smith and another man had become aggressive, threatening the landlord with pint glasses.

During the fracas on Sunday, December 17, Smith threw two or three pint glasses at the landlord causing damage to the glasses and to the pool table which was hit by liquid.

Magistrates gave him a custodial sentence saying it was a serious offence.
