CCTV images of two people who may have seen a rapist at around the time he struck have been released by police.

The 21-year-old victim was raped in an alleyway between Aconbury Close and Leopard Rise, Ronkswood, Worcester, at 9.15am on Friday, May 18.

Police hope that the man and woman will recognise themselves and come forward or friends, relatives or work colleagues will realise who they are and persuade them to come forward.

Private CCTV footage of the area near the alleyway, leading from Newtown Road to Woodgreen Drive, near to Tolladine golf course shows the two people walking in opposite directions near the scene.

The first is a woman pushing a large, front-facing pram - with pink blankets over the child - from Newtown Road towards Woodgreen Drive at 9.18am.

The second is a man wearing dark trousers and a long-sleeved blue shirt, with what appears to be a suit jacket in his hand, walking from Woodgreen Drive towards Newtown Road at 9.30am.

Det Insp Graham Smith, of Worcester CID, who is heading the inquiry, said: "There remains a possibility that this man could attempt to offend again and - until he is caught - we continue to advise all women on foot in Ronkswood to walk with someone else and/or find a different route if their normal one takes them into relatively remote secluded areas."

Officers are following up information resulting from the publication of an e-fit image of the attacker on Tuesday, May 29.

Police say the man is white, in his early 20s, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall and thin with shoulder-length, greasy brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey T-shirt.

DI Smith says he may have changed his appearance or had his hair cut or re-styled.
