TALENT will be oozing out of the door of Worcester's Marr's Bar later this month.
For the second year running the ffg Studios and local music mogul Toxic Pete have organised a special gig to showcase some of the shining unsigned stars who have used the rural recording studio, in Bredon, near Tewkesbury.
Performing will be Jacada, the winners of ffg's recent demo competition, as well as Worcestershire-based bands Girls On Film, Kurukulla and SmokeStack.
Alt-rock outfit Kurukulla were, until recently, better known as Black Light Scene, but following line-up changes the group decided that a new name was needed.
Whilst louder and a little edgier, the band has managed to retain its originality.
Girls On Film are described as Worcester's very own musical version of Laurel and Hardy or pop-rock's answer to Elwood and Jake Blues, who play like "a whirlwind of excitement and energy". The duo have quite a cult following. On the night, they'll be joining Bromyard-based contemporary blues/rock band Smokestack and Bristol-based Jacanda, who blend together old fashioned songwriting with memorable lyrics and warm melodies.
The ffg Studios Showcase is on Thursday, June 14. Tickets are £3 on the door.
