A WOMAN threatened to kill someone and headbutted the inside of a police van after being arrested on a night out.

Zoe Marshall, aged 23, of Shepherds Pool, Evesham, was spotted by police directing abusive behaviour towards a man in Evesham High Street on Friday, May 25.

When they arrived, she was arrested and taken into a police van, only to headbutt the protective cage inside because she was so angry.

Sima Akhtar, prosecuting, said: "On Friday, May 25, at 11.27pm police were called to attend a disorder in the High Street.

"They found Miss Marshall shouting angrily at a man. When officers went over to her, she said, If you don't sort this out, I will kill him'.

"She continued to shout despite being told to stop by police, which is when she started to have a go at them.

"Police officers had to restrain her and take her into a van to drive her to Worcester police station, when her behaviour continued as they went on the journey. She started to shout while in the cage at the back of the van and headbutted the walls of it."

Her behaviour outraged district judge Bruce Morgan, who asked Marshall to explain her behaviour.

He said: "Can you imagine what a member of the public must think when they see you shouting, rolling around and headbutting the inside of a cage? I despair at society sometimes."

Marshall, who works as a kitchen supervisor in a bar, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive behaviour and was fined a total of £325.
