PEOPLE are being reminded to put their unwanted bicycles to good use instead of throwing them out.
Worcestershire County Council wants people to donate unwanted bikes to the charity Motov8.
People can also buy refurbished bikes from the Worcester-based charity's workshop in Gregory's Mill Street, Barbourne, as a part of a drive to reduce landfill waste by providing cheap bicycles to local people.
The charity - set up to provide vocational training and guidance for teenagers who are close to exclusion from mainstream education - has collected and refurbished more than 1,000 bikes.
Those beyond repair are transformed into garden furniture such as ornamental planters and wind chimes.
For more information call Motov8 on 01905 619068. People in Kidderminster can contact a similar charity - Spokes - on 01562 861154.
