A HAIRY biker is having his head shaved in memory of his late wife. John Mather, of Orchard Close, Rushwick, near Worcester, will be the centre of attention when he has his locks lopped off down his local pub on Sunday. And, if someone offers him enough money, he may even say goodbye to his beard.

The 63-year-old wants to raise the profile of Look Good... Feel Better, a national charity that supports female cancer patients by giving them makeovers. Mr Mather's wife, Hilary, died of ovarian cancer in December 2005.

He said the charity made an incredible difference during the difficult times.

"I can see her face now," he said. "She had lost all of her hair and went to this group. All the girls were there with their headscarves on. They'd all had makeovers and my wife looked so happy."

The head-shave is at the White Hall Inn, Rushwick, at 9pm on Sunday.
